Way to Go! Commuter Challenge—Success for Six Straight Years!

Winooski, Vermont ~ Please join us on Friday, June 5th at 3:00 p.m. at the ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center at the Leahy Center for Lake Champlain for a social and celebration to recognize our top performing businesses, schools and community in the sixth annual May 4-8th Way to Go! Commuter Challenge.

Participation this year grew by 20 percent with 3,552 folks pledging to use cheaper, healthier, and more earth-friendly transportation alternatives to driving alone. Together, commuters saved 236,813 miles for the week, 10,516 gallons of fuel and 213,000 pounds of transportation pollutants.

The winners will be announced at 4:00 p.m. following a reception, welcome by Mayor Kiss and success stories. Come learn from our commuter idols and business leaders including: Tim Shea, National Life Group; Bethany Scott, Fairpoint Communications, Dawn LaBaron, Fletcher Allen Health Care and Kahlil Zaloom, Burton Snowboards on how they succeeded at encouraging folks to use a transportation alternative during Way to Go week and beyond.
