| Yellow Book | | Originally published by the U.S. Bureau of Public Roads (predecessor to FHWA) in 1955, The "Yellow Book", is officially titled; "General Location of National System of Interstate Highways, Including All Additional Routes at Urban Areas Designated in September, 1955". This publication outlined the original plan for the Interstate Highway System with included maps. |
| Yield-to-Left | Y2L | Principle where circulating vehicles within a roundabout, traffic circle, or rotary have the Right-of-Way over entering vehicles. Such practice eliminates traffic gridlock within the intersection. However this policy may vary by state, region, or other jurisdiction. |
