Chittenden Traffic Alert

Activity: Motorists be alert!

Reason: Litter collection, road patching and structure repair will occur along all county roads for the next several weeks.

Activity: Traffic delays and lane closures.

Reason: Work on the Essex Junction Five Corners' Redevelopment Project will cause traffic delays on Lincoln and Park Streets weekdays between 6:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Two way traffic will be maintained at all times with occasional lane closures except between 7:45 and 8:15 a.m. This project is expected to continue through October.

Activity: Park Street closure

Reason: Park Street will be CLOSED at night on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 13 and 14, from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. between the railroad tracks and the Five Corners to allow for work on the railroad track crossing. Traffic will be detoured to West Street.

Activity: Bridge traffic reduced to one lane.

Reason: The Bridge Street Iron Truss Bridge over the Winooski River is reduced to alternating one lane traffic controlled by traffic lights. The detour route for overweight vehicles is US 2 and Cochran Road.

Activity: Minor traffic delays

Reason: Bike path construction on the North Williston between Route 2 and Mountain View Drive may cause minor delays until the end of May.
